MahaLakshmi

First two cows (actually Brahma is a steer) to start the PreetiRang family are from a small dairy that was paring down operations as the owner is suffering from health issues. Brahma, as a male, was not needed but the owner wanted a good home for him. Since Brahma is a very social cow who loves being around other cows and human beings, I asked the owner to give me a companion for Brahma. That’s how MahaLakshmi came to us. She was spared the life of repeated impregnation and lactation when on her way to PreetiRang, she was taken to UCD for spaying. She’s been our only cow until Tulasi came in April this year. She’s very snooty and aloof. She prefers greens over fruits. She cannot stand the younger ones on this side of the fence, like Jai, Shiva, Harvey and Hari, though she once cried for the babies on the other side of the fence when they come running towards our fence looking for their mother.

Brahma

Brahma is THE SWEETEST steer on the planet. He went from being the alpha in the herd to being below Buster, Chester and Vishnu but has accepted his fate gracefully. He used to be very upset if Jai, when he joined later, would be fed first.
